Today marks my 6th week here in uni .I can't believe time moves so fast.I felt like it has only been a few days since I left SP.But halfway through my first semester,I'm okay with everything here;the schedule, the people, the food and so on.The things I observed and experienced :
1.Food
First thing has got to be food. One of the things I had trouble adapting at first was the fact that there weren't many HALAL shops/stalls around my housing area.I usually skip breakfast and brunch at the campus canteen (which is delicious!).Lucky that there's a wide variety of food to choose from in campus, most in which is halal.I'm strict when it comes to halal food,I don't eat at a restaurant where's there's pork served .For dinner,my best friend and I go the the few stalls outside the guardhouse and go to two Malay stalls which sells burgers, fried food and nasi lemak. They also have some traditional kuih to choose from. They're extremely nice and once helped me when I almost fainted at the sidewalk (I was sick).I remembered them rushing out from their stalls just to put me in a chair. The stall next door also gave me a bottle of sweet water to calm the dizziness.Bless them.
2.Classes/Lecturers
Among the five subjects I'm taking,I've developed an interest in Sociology ,the study of society.I find it very interesting how society works are how everyone plays a role in life.New words like bourgeoisie . proletariat, deviance, stigmatize and so on are now in my language documentary.Heck,my best friend and I have been using these new words in our daily life conversations now ! Awkward.
Okay its packing time for tomorrows lecture class. Here are some pictures I took while I'm here.I'm still figuring out why I don't take selfie's in uni .Not necessarily sure its a bad thing though :p
My campus is surrounded by a lake.Makes studying in the library heaven ,especially when you put your earphones on.I still wonder how some students don't even step foot in here !

Awh..may I ask where do you live Farah? It's quite surprising to know that there werent much Halal eateries around your area.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for foundation year ! :)
Kampar Perak. Its not that they're none, but its quite a walk to go town for McDonalds,Secret Recipe. Most of the shop at my housing area serve pork, considering its a Chinese community. But worry not,I adapt .But I don't take short-cuts :)
