Uni conflicts

I've been in uni for almost a month now and from what I've been observing,there are some really nasty people out there.When I was in high school,my seniors would always complain and advice me on the 'dangers' when bringing a car to campus.Its not the accident,not the unfamiliar road,not the maintenance. You know what I mean,when you have a car,you suddenly have these over-friendly people tallying with you till the end of class.

It starts with the ''Um..Can you send me home,I forgot my bus ticket/my bicycle broke/it's blazing hot,I'm late for class,Just this once...'' and drags for weeks.Next thing you know,you become a driver to these people,you end up broke from gas money and after all that trouble,do you think they really see you as a true friend  ? NO .

They will NOT offer you gas money.They think of it ,but they act ignorant.If you dont bring it up,so wont they.And face it,we as the driver dont just say ''Okay today pay 5 ringgit''.We actually have some courtesy towards our passenger-friends.In the uni world away from parents,most students have thinner pocket money and some look for easier ways to cut expenses.Living off their friends resources,is one of those VERY obvious short-cuts.

I was very thankful to my senior who pushed me to NOT bring a car on the start of uni.She encouraged me to get  used to the campus facility first such as the bus service ,cycling and so on.Apart those first few errors where I missed buses and ended up lot somehow,I managed to adapt to the surroundings faster than I thought.

  I'm jot saying that carpooling is bad.Its great even.But when you have unappreciative passengers,you certainly wont like it when they say:

''Tomorrow your class 10 am right?You come campus early la.My class at eight''

or

''Eh singgah here a while..want to buy bla bla bla..''

or

''Car still empty right?Fetch my friend can?She also have class.House no ....''

or after some time when they become demanding and out of line

''Why you come late?I want to go early !''

I salute passengers who cooperate with their friend.My sympathy goes to all those who go through this conflicts,when being kind results in being slaved.Now,ask yourselves ; have you been using your friend for their car?If you finally realize your mistake,do change please.Compensate your friend a bit ,take them for lunch,help them in their times or need. Don't be a monster to yourself.I'm sure you wont like it if this happens to you .

Before some people get the wrong idea,I'm not saying students who tumpang their friends car for campus are bloodsucking opportunity seekers.Just make sure you know your role when your offered help from your friends.Appriciate them and treat them like a F.R.I.E.N.D.
